Bai hails from Lafayette, Indiana where they grew up working in community theatre before moving to Chicago for their undergrad degree. After ungrad, Bai worked on tours and in Chicago for 2 years before moving to NY to pursue an MFA.
Bai is currently resident lighting designer and assistant technical director at Wabash College where they also teach courses in lighting design, technical theatre, and theatre theory.
Bai has also been Lighting Director and Head Electrician on multiple national tours. Bai has a BFA in Lighting Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University and an MFA in Lighting Design from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
